Primary Purpose

Provides psychological assessment and treatment planning for facility correctional inmates developing interventions appropriate to the correctional clinical setting.

 

Minimum Specifications

 

Education

Must have a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or a related field or a Doctorate in Psychology.

Experience

Must have two years of experience in counseling, psychological/psychiatric intake and diagnostics.

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

None

Certification/Registration/Licensure

Must have one of the following licenses:

1) Licensed Psychologist by the State Board of Examiners of Psychology within the facility’s state location.

2) Licensed Professional Counselor by the State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, within the facility’s state location

Skills or Special Abilities

Requires competency in mental health/psychological assessment, diagnosing psychiatric conditions and treatment planning.

Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting aged related and handicapped patient needs.

Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
